Let's get cooking!
When we were first coming up with the idea of the Giggling Gourmet line, we looked to actual food in order to come up with color palettes and design features. Furthermore, we decided to combine baby's love of food with evergreen play patterns to create a pretty unique and fun toy line. As a result, Giggling Gourmet ended up having the most consistent visual design language out of all of the toy lines that have since been created at Kids II.

Let's Get Poppin'...
The marquee item in the Giggling Gourmet line was actually pretty difficult to design. It was hard to really narrow down the direction we wanted to go in because there are so many different things we could do with food. Ultimately, we decided on the shopping cart because it was an iconic item that babies would love to push around the develop gross motor skills. In order to bring a lot more play value, I added the top electronic cooking unit that lets infants pop corn, spin eggs, or open a grilled cheese sandwich. The electronic toy also was removable for floor play, or if baby just wanted to push around the cart and put things in. I actually love the way the popping corn feature turned out. It was a big flashy reward that kids loved to repeat over and over again.
